Plot Synopsis

Eight-year-old Bonnie attempts to interact with her neighbors, the Jordan twins, but finds them preoccupied by their tablets. After receiving a frog-themed tablet called Lilypad "Lily," Bonnie becomes addicted and starts ignoring her other toys. Jessie, who took over as sheriff after Woody left, tries to clarify for Lily how she is impacting Bonnie's social interactions. However, Lily misinterprets this and uses social media to find Bonnie new friends, including Chelsea from her dance class.

A discouraged Jessie uses a walkie-talkie to contact Woody, who has been assisting Bo Peep in finding homes for abandoned toys. Due to a misunderstanding at the end of the call, Woody decides to return to Bonnie. Meanwhile, Buzz Lightyear struggles to find the nerve to confess his feelings for Jessie.

When Chelsea invites Bonnie to a sleepover, Jessie and Bullseye hide in Bonnie's backpack. However, after Chelsea and her friends Heidi and Kara mock Bonnie for playing with toys, Bonnie's father is asked to take the toys home. Jessie and Bullseye eventually escape but are intercepted by an elderly couple who sends them to the farmhouse belonging to Jessie's former owner, Emily.

While at Emily's former home, Jessie meets Smarty Pants, a potty-training device, in a shed for forgotten toys. Jessie has to search for a replacement battery for Smarty Pants and discovers the farmhouse is now occupied by the Manoukian family, including a girl named Blaze.

During these events, a shipment of new Buzz Lightyear figures accidentally crash-lands at a nearby campsite. Woody returns to Bonnie's home and argues with Buzz over their status, but they soon realize Jessie is missing. The toys confront Lily, who has become indifferent and tricks Bonnie's parents into storing all the toys except for Buzz and Woody.

To fight back, Woody and Buzz unplug Lily's charger, disrupting an online game Bonnie was playing. At the farmhouse, Jessie collaborates with other electronic devices to reach Bonnie's house through Lily. After discovering that Lily is compelled to be helpful when her name is called, Woody and Buzz find a message regarding Jessie's location. They lead Bonnie and her mother to the farmhouse, but Bonnie initially rejects Jessie after being teased by her new social circle.

Jessie finds a hidden lunchbox under a tree Emily once played near, discovering photos that prove she remains a cherished nostalgic memory for her former owner.

Redeeming herself, a guilty Lily helps the toys, device friends, and malfunctioning Buzz figures reach Bonnie. They use Blaze's toy horse collection for transport and eventually facilitate a friendship between Bonnie and Blaze. Bonding over their shared imagination, the girls "marry" Jessie and Buzz in their games. Bonnie leaves her mean-spirited clique behind, while Woody and Bo Peep resume their mission to help toys in need. Finally, the new Buzz figures find homes with children at a local playground.
