In 2026, the world teeters on the edge of global nuclear war. Amid rising international tensions, cybersecurity specialist Daniel Kellner steals a cache of classified files and a piece of extraterrestrial technology from Wardex, a secretive government organization operating under the guise of a private corporation. The files contain evidence of decades of human-alien contact stretching back to the Roswell incident.

When Wardex CEO Noah Scanlon discovers the theft, he brands Daniel a foreign spy and unleashes federal authorities to hunt him down. Forced into hiding, Daniel seeks refuge in a convent alongside his girlfriend, Jane Blankenship.
At the same time, television meteorologist Margaret Fairchild experiences a strange encounter when a cardinal enters her home, studies her briefly, and flies away. The incident triggers dormant psychic abilities. Margaret suddenly finds herself able to sense the thoughts and emotions of others and communicate in languages she has never learned.

During a live weather broadcast, she unexpectedly begins speaking an unknown extraterrestrial language. The viral footage attracts the attention of Wardex, which immediately recognizes the language. After narrowly escaping capture, Margaret also goes on the run.

Daniel shares the stolen files with Jane, revealing that Wardex has secretly experimented on extraterrestrial beings while reverse-engineering alien technology for decades. Determined to expose the truth, Daniel prepares to release the evidence to the world.

With international relations rapidly deteriorating, Daniel and Margaret are contacted by a group of former Wardex employees who have become whistleblowers. Led by Hugo Wakefield, the group shelters them in a warehouse containing an exact reconstruction of Margaret's childhood home.
There, Margaret uncovers long-buried memories revealing that she and Daniel were abducted by extraterrestrials as children and subjected to experiments that awakened their extraordinary abilities. She also learns that many of the unusual animals that have appeared throughout their lives were actually extraterrestrial observers disguised in harmless forms.

Realizing time is running out, Margaret, Daniel, and the whistleblowers launch a daring plan to reveal the truth.
