The bounty hunter Din Djarin — better known as the Mandalorian — and his adopted young companion Grogu are working alongside the New Republic, tracking down the remnants of the Galactic Empire and the warlords still clinging to power. After completing a mission, Djarin is approached by New Republic commander Ward, who asks him to locate a dangerous and elusive crime lord known as Coin.

The New Republic has received information about Coin’s location from the Hutt Twins, the ruthless heirs to Jabba the Hutt’s criminal empire. But the intel comes with a price: Djarin must rescue Jabba’s son, Rotta, from a syndicate controlled by the brutal underworld figure Lord Janu. As a down payment, Djarin is given a brand-new Razor Crest.

Though hesitant, Djarin accepts the job and travels to the planet Shakari, where Rotta has become a popular gladiator fighting in Janu’s arena. Rotta has no interest in being rescued. Eager to prove himself and escape the shadow of his infamous father, he believes one final match will clear his debts and earn his freedom. Hoping to settle things peacefully, Djarin confronts Janu and asks for Rotta’s release, only to learn the truth: the final fight is designed to kill him.

When Djarin warns Rotta, Rotta refuses to believe him and instead has security seize the Mandalorian. Forced into the arena, Djarin ends up fighting Rotta himself. He defeats him but refuses to deliver the killing blow. Enraged, Janu unleashes massive monsters into the arena, forcing Djarin and Rotta to work together to survive. During the chaos, Rotta disables the arena’s security systems, freeing the surviving creatures and escaping alongside Djarin and Grogu. With help from Zeb Orellios, they eventually catch up to him.

Once captured, Rotta reveals that the Hutt Twins never intended to save him — they want him dead so they can fully seize control of the Hutt Cartel. He also exposes another secret: Janu and Coin are actually the same person. Choosing to trust Rotta, Djarin teams up with Zeb to raid Janu’s compound and capture him. They deliver Janu to Commander Ward, who takes him into custody but warns Djarin that betraying the Twins could have serious consequences.

Back on Nevarro, Djarin recruits a group of Anzellans to upgrade the Razor Crest while helping Rotta disappear into hiding with the assistance of a gunrunner. But before they can move on, bounty hunter Embo ambushes Djarin and delivers him to the Hutt Twins on Nal Hutta. Grogu and the Anzellans secretly follow behind.

The Twins reveal their true intentions for Rotta: they plan to torture him for centuries as punishment and entertainment. To punish Djarin for breaking their deal, they force him into combat with a deadly Dragonsnake. Although Djarin manages to escape thanks to Grogu and the Anzellans, he is badly poisoned during the fight.

Too weak to escape and unable to fit aboard the tiny Anzellan ship, Djarin stays behind on Nal Hutta so Grogu and the others can flee safely. Grogu, however, refuses to abandon him. He remains at Djarin’s side and eventually helps save his life using an antidote provided by a kind fisherman. Once recovered, Djarin decides not to run. Knowing the Twins will never stop hunting them, he chooses to strike first.

Djarin and Grogu infiltrate the Twins’ palace, fighting through waves of battle droids before facing Embo once again. While Djarin duels the bounty hunter, Grogu frees Rotta. Rotta confronts the Twins directly, and the battle sends himself, the Twins, and Embo crashing into the Dragonsnake pit below.

Using the Force, Grogu rescues Rotta, while Embo escapes through a hidden tunnel. The Twins are left behind and devoured by the Dragonsnake. Soon after, the Anzellans return with Commander Ward and a New Republic squadron, who destroy the Twins’ palace and wipe out their remaining forces.

In the aftermath, Ward reveals that Janu and the Twins had secretly been working together all along. Rotta decides to remain with the New Republic and help rebuild a better future, while Djarin and Grogu leave aboard the Razor Crest. As they head off into space, Djarin begins teaching Grogu how to pilot the ship himself.
