The film Jackass: Best and Last serves as a compilation of skits, pranks, and stunts, interspersed with interviews of the cast members on set. This production blends legacy material with fresh content, revisiting iconic moments from the franchise while introducing brand-new, previously unreleased footage.
In an opening sequence reminiscent of the "Virtual Insanity" music video, the main cast performs Bonnie Tyler's "Holding Out for a Hero." As they perform, each member executes a stunt that pays homage to their past work, culminating in Wee Man striking Johnny Knoxville in the groin with a large wooden mallet.
The retrospective segments of the film highlight several classic bits: "Self Defense," which was Knoxville's pre-Jackass debut; the "Brad Pitt Abduction" from the original television series; "Butt X-Ray" from the 2002 movie; "Big Red Rocket" from Jackass Number Two (2006); and the "High Five" and "Poo Cocktail Supreme" from Jackass 3D (2010). Additionally, the film features the strip club sequence from Bad Grandpa (2013) and the "Magic Trick" and "Silence of the Lambs" from Jackass Forever (2022), the latter of which includes never-before-seen footage featuring Bam Margera.
New content featured in the movie includes Steve-O undergoing a painful prostate examination by a robot named Larry, Poopies attempting a balance beam walk while a shock collar is attached to his penis, and a segment where Wee Man, Danger Ehren, Dave England, and Dark Shark attempt to navigate an "escape room from hell".
The finale echoes the opening of the original film, showing the veteran cast in a massive grocery cart navigating a series of explosions. The sequence concludes with the cart plummeting down a steep incline and exploding, only for the film to reveal that puppets were used for the crash as the actual cast members observe from a distance.
