Edmonds has won 13 GRAMMY® Awards and received 83 nominations. His work has contributed to more than 800 million records sold and over a billion records streamed. In addition to his solo career, Edmonds and Antonio “L.A.” Reid founded LaFace Records in 1989, a label known for launching the careers of Toni Braxton, Outkast, Usher, TLC, P!nk, Ciara, Goodie Mob, T.I. and Donnell Jones.

The documentary will include interviews with Edmonds, access to his personal archive and behind-the-scenes footage of his upcoming shows in Las Vegas.

He concluded with a message on self-talk: “Transformation begins with how you talk to yourself — by flipping that question … 'Am I good enough?' into 'I am good enough.'”

Thompson is an Academy Award-winning filmmaker, a six-time GRAMMY winner, and the musical director for “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” His documentary Summer of Soul won the 2022 Academy Award for Best Documentary, and his latest film Sly Lives! premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.

More than 2,880 students are participating in LMU’s commencement ceremonies. The university’s graduate and law school commencement will take place on May 18, with physicist and author Brian Greene scheduled to speak.

TORONTO, March 11, 2025 (ENTERTAINMENT INTERVIEWS) — Arts foundation, The Glenn Gould Foundation, has announced that musician Sir Elton John has been named the Laureate of the 15th Glenn Gould Prize. The biennial award recognizes an individual whose lifetime contributions in the arts have enriched the human condition. Sir Elton was selected by an international jury of artists and cultural leaders.

The Glenn Gould Prize, often referred to as the "Nobel Prize of the Arts," includes a CAD$100,000 award for the laureate and a CAD$25,000 Glenn Gould Protégé Prize, granted to a young artist chosen by the winner.

“After spending decades admiring the virtuosity of Glenn Gould’s work, I am awestruck and honoured to receive this award,” said Sir Elton John.

With more than five decades in music, John has sold over 300 million albums, produced more than 50 Top 40 hits, and achieved EGOT status, having received Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards. He is also recognized for his philanthropic efforts, particularly in HIV/AIDS advocacy through the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which has raised over USD$600 million globally.

Founded by Pharrell Williams in 2020, Black Ambition provides funding, mentorship, and resources to underrepresented entrepreneurs. This year’s competition will award more than $1 million to up to 25 selected applicants.

The competition is open to early-stage entrepreneurs in consumer products and services, healthcare, media and entertainment, technology, and artificial intelligence. Selected participants will enter a 12-week mentorship program, gaining access to business development support, industry leaders, and networking opportunities. The program will culminate in Black Ambition’s 5th Annual Demo Day in November, where finalists will compete for funding.
