Plot Synopsis
Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van send their infant son, Kal-El to planet Earth in order to protect him from the destruction of their planet Krypton. Kal-El is adopted by a human couple from Smallville, Kansas, Jonathan and Martha Kent, who name him Clark Kent.
Thirty-years later, Clark is now Superman, and as a Kryptonian, he has gained incredible powers from the Sun. Clark Kent, or Superman, is the most powerful metahuman on the planet Earth. As Clark, he works as a reporter for the Daily Planet in the city Metropolis, where he works with his girlfriend Lois Lane and friend Jimmy Olsen.
Just three weeks ago, Superman stopped an invasion by Borravia, an ally of the United States, near the neighboring country of Jarhanpur. General Rick Flag Sr. and other members of the U.S government worry about Superman as a threat to their power, while Lex Luthor, a billionaire, assures that he can eliminate Superman if need be.
Superman loses his first fight against the strange ‘Hammer of Boravia’, who is really just Ultraman in disguise. Ultraman reckons his involvement in the war as the reason for his actions. Secretly, however, Ultraman is employed by Lex Luthor, who controls him using a series of drones.
Krypto, Superman’s super-dog, takes Superman, now badly injured, to Fortress of Solitude in Antarctica, where he is then healed by solar radiation. Luthor secretly invades the fortress with Ultraman and Angela Spica/Engineer in tow. They steal a message from Superman’s parents and then abduct Krypto.
Later, Superman, along with his Justice Gang (Mister Terrific, Green Lantern, and Hawkgirl) battle a kaiju which was created by Luthor as a diversion. Luthor then decodes the Kryptonian message from Superman's parents.
In the message, his parents urge him to conquer the Earth and kill as many lives as possible. Luthor then broadcasts this message to the world. The public revolts against Superman, and he agrees to surrender to the government for questioning. Rick Flag Sr. then gives custody of Superman over to Luthor.
Luthor then imprisons Superman within his artificial pocket dimension which is home to Krypto as well as Metamorpho, using his baby son, Joey, as hostage. Luthor has Metamorpho create Kryptonite to keep Superman powerless. Eve Teshmmacher, Lex Luthor’s girlfriend, is infatuated with Jimmy Olsen. She reveals to Jimmy that Luthor is secretly backing Boravia and in return he gets half of Jarhanpur's territory. After witnessing Luthor murder a fan of Superman in cold blood, he decides to help. Lois then enlists Mister Terrific to help and the two enter the pocket dimension. They rescue the heroes and take Superman to the Clark family farm to heal.
Upon learning of Superman’s escape, Luthor has his men increase the power to the pocket dimension which then begins to rip a black hole across the entirety of the city.
Together, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Metamorpho work together to stop a second Boravian invasion. Superman, along with Mr. Terrific, battle the Engineer along with Ultraman as the black hole begins to near the city of Metropolis. Superman defeats the Engineer and learns that Ultraman is an unintelligent clone of himself. Superman then throws Ultraman into the black hole.
Meanwhile, Lois and Jimmy work together to reveal Lex Luthor’s intentions and clear Superman’s name. Hawkgirl drops the President of Boravia from a great height and the Justice Gang celebrates their win, along with the newest member Metamorpho. The Justice Gan are celebrated as heroes.
Later, Lex Luthor is arrested. Superman and Lois share a kiss as he recuperates at the Fortress of Solitude. Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El, returns to pick-up Krypto. Superman plays home footage of himself with his adopted mother and father, Jonathan and Martha.
